Here's just a few examples to get you started:
- You can create and sell your own informational product. It can be an ebook, an audio or video program, or even a hard copy book, CD or DVD. Information products on just about any subject are in high demand. What do you know about, or want to learn more about, that you can teach others?
- You can also purchase resell rights to products. That way you can keep all the profits for yourself, but without the work of actually creating the product. Many resell rights products come with complete sales pages ready to put online. Some will even allow you to customize them and put your own name on them as the author.
- You can sell other people's products as an affiliate. 1,000's of vendors will pay you a good percentage of any sales you generate for them, and the type of products you can sell are infinite. For info-products to sell, start with ClickBank. For hard goods, check out Amazon's affiliate program.
- Can you write? Try blogging on a popular topic you're interested in. You can monetize it with relevant affiliate products, or Google Adsense ads. If you attract a lot of readers, you can even sell advertising directly to big companies that pay very well.
- You can also make money by selling your writing skills to others as a ghostwriter. Many marketers rely on others to write their articles, blog posts, and even whole books for them. If your writing is decent quality, and you can deliver on time, you'll never run out of clients for this kind of work.
- Are you good with graphic design? Every product being sold online needs good graphic art to make it attractive- from ebook covers to web page headers and footers and more. Most writers are not good graphic designers- here's your opportunity.
- You can sell other services online as well. Website design, software creation, market research, and search engine optimization are all in high demand. But so are non-technical skills, such as tutoring, financial expertise, organizing, fundraising, coaching, and giving lessons in how to do just about anything.
- If you have online skills, you can also market them to local businesses in your area. Many small business owners could use your help setting up a simple web site and email marketing campaign, and they'll usually be willing to pay a lot more than you'd expect.
